I am a lover of the colors and spots. The first time that I saw a goat that had this appearance, I was determined to get as many as I could. We plan to add more spotted does to our herd over the next few months. My husband and I have a difference of opinion on what true beauty is to make beautiful doe, but he lets me have my way anyhow.
Butterscotch Swirl
Butterscotch is the only doe that I have that is not registered. She has been, but her paperwork was lost by a previous owner. Butterscotch is 50/50 nubian/boer. This is truly my favorite doe. I got her in May of 2008 and she was severely malnourished weighing only 68 pounds, trying to nurse a set of twins, and in desperate need of vitamins. I took my time treating her and brought her back to better health than she has been in her lifetime. At less than 2 years old, she has kidded twice with a total of 3 bucklings and maintained a weight of 130 pounds for more than 6 months. Her latest buckling weaned at 49 pounds! Butterscotch is a keeper in my books and will have forever home with my family.
Pokey NDR Pocohontas
Pokey about 3 weeks after coming to live with us in Oklahoma. She has settled well and doing great. We are currently in the process of finding of the "right" spotted buck to AI her with.
